We’re in this together: July COVID-19 Update

Dear CPAF family & friends,

All of us have been impacted in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic. CPAF hopes that you and your loved ones have been able to stay healthy and safe during this time.

As an essential organization, CPAF continued to operate continuously throughout the pandemic, with adjustments made in accordance with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines. As of June 15, the State of California has lifted certain pandemic restrictions. Given the changing environment, CPAF would like to provide the following update about its programs and services:

CPAF’s 24-Hour Multi-lingual Helpline and crisis intervention services continue to provide free and confidential assistance. If you or someone needs help, please call 1-800-339-3940.

CPAF’s Emergency and Transitional Shelters continue to house and support families fleeing domestic and sexual violence, taking care to keep the families and staff safe by adhering to public health protocols in congregate settings.

Community Services that were provided at CPAF’s Community Center (CC) site will proceed on a hybrid virtual and in-person basis.

  • Counseling and support groups will be scheduled for in-person meetings by appointment only, effective  July 1, 2021. Walk-ins are not permitted. Clients will continue to have the option to meet via phone or Zoom as well.

  • CPAF external trainings and meetings with community partners, schools, and other stakeholders will proceed on a hybrid basis, with some gatherings held virtually and others held in-person at the CPAF Community Center with consideration to the partners’ protocols and guidelines.

  • CPAF community events will proceed on a hybrid basis, depending on the nature of the event. We will continue to use virtual platforms to provide community-centered programming where appropriate, particularly when doing so increases the accessibility of the event for CPAF community members.

CPAF staff and visitors (including clients, visitors, and meeting participants) who will be present onsite at CPAF’s Community Center will be required to comply with the procedures below. Walk-in visitors are not permitted.

1. Staff who pre-arrange for the necessary visitor are responsible for meeting, escorting and signing-in visitor.

2. Sign-in procedure, take temperature, waiting area

a. The visitor sign-in sheet is located by the entrance. Clients and service/vendors will take their own temperature and sign-in verifying they do not have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc.).

b. Visitors will leave their contact information in case they will need to be reached for contact tracing.

c. There is a waiting area for visitors immediately on the right side of the suite when they enter.

3. Visitors must put on a face covering (extra masks available) and sanitize hands.

CPAF will continue to monitor local and state public health guidelines and adjust these procedures as necessary. We thank you for your support of CPAF, and look forward to connecting safely with you in the future.
