FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear CPAF Community,
I am delighted and honored to reach out to you as the newly appointed Executive Director of Center for the Pacific Asian Family. It is with great enthusiasm that I embark on this new chapter, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this capacity.
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to each of you for your support and commitment to CPAF's mission. Many of you have been with us throughout our journey, and your dedication to serving Asian and Pacific Islander (API) survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault is truly inspiring. I am humbled to be part of an organization with such a rich legacy of compassion and empowerment.
I am not a stranger to CPAF. In fact, I have had the privilege of being part of this incredible organization for the past 16 years, working in various roles that have shaped my understanding of the critical issues we address. Beginning as a Family Advocate in 2007, I witnessed firsthand the transformative impact CPAF has on the lives of survivors. In 2016, I took on the role of Shelter Program Director, leading a remarkable team of individuals who have dedicated themselves to providing a safe haven for survivors in need.
Throughout my journey at CPAF, I have been continuously inspired by the resilience and strength of our community, as well as the unwavering support of our partners. As a Thai American woman dedicated to preventing and addressing violence against API women and children, I bring a personal commitment to creating a more equitable and healthy society. As your new Executive Director, I am committed to building on CPAF's foundation and fostering intentional collaborations with our community partners. Together, we will continue to cultivate a network of agencies that survivors can access for comprehensive services and support. While we honor CPAF’s past, we also recognize the importance of adapting and growing. In the coming weeks, my focus will be on gaining a deeper understanding of our organization's opportunities and challenges, and on engaging with stakeholders to develop a new strategic plan. I am eager to learn from the history that has shaped us and work collaboratively to build an even more resilient, responsive, and inclusive CPAF.
In closing, I want to express my appreciation for your continued support. Your contributions, whether through donations, volunteer efforts, or advocacy, play a vital role in advancing CPAF's mission to build healthy and safe communities. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that survivors and their families receive the support they need to heal and thrive.
I am excited about the journey ahead and look forward to connecting with many of you in the coming weeks. Your presence and engagement are essential as we shape the future of CPAF together. Furthermore, I extend a special invitation to our upcoming United Through Love Gala on September 8, where we will gather to celebrate our collective commitment to creating a brighter and safer future for all.
The mission and work of CPAF is extraordinarily essential, not just for the wellness and safety of the domestic violence and sexual assault survivors that seek our services, but for the holistic enrichment of all of our lives. This is what moves me into action and what motivates me to be part of this movement to end gender-based violence. Let us stand together as agents of change, empowering survivors and fostering a world free from violence.
With gratitude,
Patima Komolamit
Executive Director
