Orange Day Rally at the Capitol

A very special THANK YOU to our 2019 Gala sponsors and donors who invested in our youth program!

February was Dating Violence Awareness Month, so our youth leaders were busy getting the word out! Here are some highlights!

Healthy Relationship Fair

We recruited 20 youth leaders this year from the same program we recruited Brian, 12th grader whom you heard speak at our Gala. This February, youth leaders put on a two-day Healthy Relationship Fair, actively engaging 200+ youth on campus during their lunch period.

Orange Day Rally

Julian, 11th grader represented CPAF in our state capitol on February 11th, speaking at a rally with Speaker of the Assembly, Anthony Rendon, Assembly members Blanca Rubio, Eloise Reyes, State Senators Susan Rubio, Hannah Beth Jackson. He was also on the policy briefing panel where he elaborated on our prevention programs. Julian was the only Asian American and the only male, besides Anthony Rendon, speaking at the rally or briefing panel.

Know Your Roots

We launched “Know Your Roots” workshops to equip 12 youth to prevent dating violence, and support 5 youth leaders to implement prevention projects in their communities in San Gabriel Valley and South Bay. The projects will be showcased during our Youth Forum in June 2020.
