Vocalizing to Friends #UnitedThroughLove

July kicks off our third quarter of #UnitedThroughLOVE – Vocalizing to friends. How will you speak up with friends to build toward a safe, violence-free world for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders, and all communities? Read our volunteer spotlight below for ideas and the latest CPAF news for ways to get involved.

Volunteer Spotlight

“I was looking for volunteer opportunities. I saw that CPAF had an interpretation training program to help those who are victims of DV. I speak another language, so I decided to attend the training and volunteer. I have helped to interpret on the hotline and with workshops. During the holidays, I also helped with gift wrapping toys for the families living in the shelters. It has been a rewarding and humbling experience. I have learned that anyone can fall victim to domestic violence. I am also grateful for CPAF’s presence, since they help such a vulnerable population with all kinds of assistance such as housing, legal services, and of course, interpretation, so that everyone can understand.”

Thank you, Anna, for your commitment to CPAF!

A New Chapter for CPAF

In case you missed it, CPAF’s Board President Mamie Funahashi announced earlier this month that after more than 22 years of serving as CPAF’s Executive Director, Debra Suh will transition out of her role at the end of this calendar year. We congratulate Debra on her dedication to progressing the nonviolence movement for over two decades, and we look forward to CPAF's next chapter. Read the full announcement here and we invite you to join us in honoring Debra at our upcoming gala.
