Asian Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Task Force presents “Beyond the Basics” for DVAM

Every year Asian Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Task Force (APIDVTF) hosts an event in honor of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). APIDVTF was formed by a group of domestic violence social service agencies and community members in November 2004. CPAF is a task force member, working in collaboration with other agencies to eliminate domestic violence in Asian and Pacific Islander communities through outreach, education, and advocacy. This year, APIDVTF organized “Beyond the Basics: An Informational Event on Domestic Violence Resources for Service Providers,” a free event for service providers working in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The event included two informational presentations given by legal advocates and a panel discussion with domestic violence service providers from various backgrounds.

DACA updates from Tiffany Panlilio, Department of Justice accredited representative from Asian American Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (AAAJ-LA)

Panelists include CPAF’s very own Patima Komolamit (Shelter Program Director) and Kathy Te (Emergency Shelter Program Manager)

CPAF recognizes that it takes a collaborative community effort to bring domestic violence awareness through outreach, advocacy, and education. Special thanks to APIDVTF members for their leading efforts in organizing this event and to Pacific Clinics Training Institute for hosting the site. CPAF is a proud member of APIDVTF and will continue to join in the fight to end domestic violence.
